Titans Invite You to Attend Annual AGM

 

The Ottawa Titans will be holding thier annual AGM next Wednesday, November 14th at 5:30pm.  The meeting will be held in Morguard Investment's boardroom, the 4th floor at the Delta Hotel on Queen St. between Lyon and Bay. The Club will discuss options for the upcoming 2008 season.

As is customary at the end of the year, the Ottawa Titans like to honour a few of their own who have made outstanding contributions to the team this season.

 

Here are this year's award winners:

 

Leading scorer: Kyle Buchanan

Rookie of the Year: Andrew Dilworth & Kyle Alfred

Most Sportsmanlike: Matt Cowie

Defensive Player: Scott Cowie

MVP: Ben Salo & Pat Tallis

Most Improved Player: Kyle Alfred & Brad Barber

Coaches Award: Ben Salo

President's Award: Al Diabo & Elizabeth Goddard

Congratulations to Titans All Stars!

 

The Titans want to wish good luck to Ottawa's Captain Matt Cowie and Davey Hallett who have been chosen to represent Ottawa in the 2007 Jr. 'A' All Star Game. The boys will show their skills Thursday, August 9th at the Iroquois Park Sports Complex in Whitby. Cowie and Hallett have made amazing contributions offensively for the Titans this year. Congrats boys, make Ottawa proud!

Tallis Brothers Bring Lacross Pride to Barrhaven

 

Check out this article by Leah Sarazen and Shannon Parsons on the Titan's very own Pat and Joe Tallis, running this week in the Barrhaven Independent.

 

 

Titans Fend Off Akwesasne Until Final Minutes of Play

 

The Ottawa Titans proved to Akwesasne they were contenders Wednesday night, holding the Indians at a 4-4 stand still until the final two minutes of play, losing 7-4.  Both teams buckled down and played some gritty defense and fast break offense but goaltenders Justin Delormier of Akwesasne and Titan Joe Tallis continually denied both teams.

Ottawa Hard on Defence But Can't Contain Whitby

Despite two strong periods, the Titans simply could not contain the Warriors on Wednesday in Ottawa, losing a hard fought 11-5.  In the first and the second, the Titans trailed Whitby by only a few goals.  But the third period saw a widening of the gap for the Warriors, as the Titans missed out on scoring opportunities- hitting several posts and unable to capitalize on power plays.

Ottawa Grabs 2nd Win in a Commanding 12-6 Over Orillia!

 

The Ottawa Titans dominated the Orillia Rama Kings in a 12-6 victory

Sunday afternoon, grabbing their second win of the season. With seven

different goal scorers on the Titans side the boys proved that offensively

they are reaching their stride, while on defence killed a number of penalties to keep the ball in the Titans’ possession.

Titans Hold Excelsiors Back In a Tough Battle With

Brampton Coming Out on Top 4-2

 

The Ottawa Titans played hard Sunday afternoon, keeping

stride with the 5th place Brampton Excelsiors but, despite

excellent goaltending by Joe Tallis, could not find an edge

over the Excelsiors, losing 4-2.

Ottawa An Even Match for St. Catharines But a Hard 3rd

Period Leaves the Titans Behind 9-3

 

The Ottawa Titans proved a tough opponent for the St.

Catharines Athletics Saturday night, winning the second

period and keeping the score a low 4-3 going into the

third, but lost steam in the 3rd and the Athletics were

able to pull ahead 9-3.

The Ottawa Titans Wish Kyle 'Bucky' Buchanan the

Best of Luck Out in New Westminster!

 

The Titans are proud to see Kyle Buchanan head out to

BC to play for New Westminster for the remainder of the 

Junior 'A' season. With this amazing opportunity Bucky

will be able to showcase his Ottawa lacrosse skills in the

2007 Minto Cup.

Ottawa Coes Back in the 3rd, But Can't Catch Toronto,

Losing 13-7

 

The Ottawa Titans could not find their offensive stride against the

Toronto Beaches Sunday afternoon, losing 13-7.  The Beaches pulled

ahead in the first and second, making it difficult for the Titans to make a

comeback.

Titans Could Not Stop Undefeated Arrows


In the second match-up of the season against the Six Nations Arrows, the Ottawa Titans did not fare much better, losing a hard fought battle 15 4.   Despite an early head start on the Arrows and some gritty defensive work, 

the Titans were outshot by the Arrows powerhouse offense.

Titans fall 13-4 to Northmen, Despite Hard Found First Period

 

The Ottawa Titans fell 13-4 in their second match-up against the Orangeville Northmen Sunday. Ottawa had Orangeville running the first period but lost steam in the second and third.

Titans Neck and Neck with Tomahawks, but Mississauga Takes

the 12-11 Win

 

The Ottawa Titans played an outstanding game Saturday night against the Mississauga Tomahawks, but faced a hard fought 12-11 loss.  A mixture of relentless defense and snipe shots kept the Titans neck and neck with the Tomahawks but they just couldn’t pull ahead to take the win.

Titans Take Lakers into OT

 

Still high from the Titans first win of the season, Ottawa managed to carry that momentum forward in last night’s game, coming out strong in the first period and not letting up all game long, forcing the Peterborough Lakers into overtime where the Titans lost a hard fought battle 9-8.

TITANS GRAB 1st WIN OF THE SEASON, TAKING THE BRAVES 8-7

 

The Ottawa Titans came to play Sunday afternoon and took the Kitchener-Waterloo

Braves 8-7 in an intense match-up.

Excelsiors Take Titans 17-5

 

The Ottawa Titans came out flying in the first period but could not maintain,

taking a hard 17-5 loss to the Brampton Excelsiors Saturday night.

Braves Take Titans 9-4

 

The Ottawa Titans could not find an edge over the Kitchener-Waterloo Braves in their sixth game of the season Sunday, with a final score of 9-4 for the Braves.

First win of the season just slips Titans grasp

 

Despite a slow start in the first period, the Ottawa Titans rallied their forces and evened out the scoring last night in Toronto.  While both teams attempted to show off their offensive prowess by scoring some crowd pleasing goals, ultimately, the Titans fell to the Beaches 17-14.

Titans Struggle to Contain Six Nations

 

The Six Nations Arrows dominated the floor Monday, sweeping the Ottawa Titans 15-2. Despite some hard work defensively and solid goaltending by Brett Perras the Titans simply could not neutralize the Arrows offense.

Titans Still Fighting For Their First Win

 

The Ottawa Titans are still looking for their first win of the season after a hard fought loss in Burlington against the Chiefs Sunday night. Despite a 3 goal contribution from Pat Tallis, Ottawa couldn’t catch Burlington, losing 10-7.

Tensions Run High Against the Northmen in the Titans Home Opener

 

After losing 14-5 to the Akwesasne Indians Friday night the Ottawa Titans rallied their spirits and came out strong against the Orangeville Northmen Sunday in their home opener, but penalties in the third period put the Titans behind with a final score of 12-7.
